Herpes HSV-2 blood test waiting time?

I'm 99% sure I have herpes, I noticed some mild signs roughly 5-7 days ago & they're still present, although slightly diminished. For various reasons I can't go to a doctor until my appt next friday, where they have scheduled a blood test. My question is- if the physical symptom are gone by then and I get this blood test, is that enough time to really tell? I've read that you need to wait several weeks to several months or it can come back as a false-negative since you dont have enough antibodies built up. I feel like if they say i'm negative I wont be able to believe it.
