Is going to an expensive private university worth it? Is it hard to get need-based financial aid?

I'm 17 and currently in community college to get my A.A.....I really want to transfer to Wake Forest University to major in English Education (I want to be an English teacher and a writer)....however I'm wondering if I could actually do it...considering my family is very poor. Right now I'm attending cc on a full paid pell grant but I know that Wake Forest is private and tution is crazy. Is it possible that I could get a great financial aid package? I can't see myself ever paying off the student loans on a teacher's salary... ?
